ProQuest is the major sponsor of this popular event, which funds scholarships for minority library students - now in its 10th year.

Library Journal/ProQuest Teaching Award
The new LJ Teaching Award, sponsored by ProQuest, recognizes excellence in educating the next generation of librarians. The award is bestowed upon an educator who has a record of communicating core principles of librarianship, integration of theory, practice, and research, mentorship, and forward thinking.   The inaugural award and $5000 prize was presented to Toni Samek, associate professor at the School of Library and Information Studies (SLIS), University of Alberta, Edmonton, Canada, at the 2008 American Library Association (ALA) Midwinter Meeting in Philadelphia.
